21 Days Towards Being Unplugged!

Tired, frustrated or simply unaware of your handheld devices taking over your life? Join me in my “21 Days Towards Being Unplugged Challenge” starting July 1- 21, 2016. Let’s take a BIG STEP towards reconnecting in more meaningful ways by turning OFF our cell phones, SmartPhones, iPhones, Blackberries by 9:00 pm each night when at home! (Put them on “airplane mode” when you’re out, so that you can still make emergency calls but NOT receive notifications).

Let’s unplug from devices that are interfering with our sleep, vibration, awareness, solitude, rest and leisure; and RECONNECT with ourselves and each other! Because, let’s be honest nothing replaces aย good, old hug from a friend, spouse or child at the end of a long day. Or, a nice soak in the tub with a good book!

Let me know how you’re doing with this change to your daily routine by commenting below, on Twitter (@forwardmusesoul– hashtag: #21DaysUnplugged) or Facebook (Forward Muse Solutions Coaching) and I’ll send you a FREE copy of my Colour Your World: A Meditation Guide for joining the challenge!

How does it feel not having your cell phone on and by your side in the evenings?:
Strange, nerve wracking?
Less anxious, more relaxed?
Are you finding you have more time? Even time to get bored?
What activities have you taken up now that you’re shutting down your cell phone earlier? Have you started using landlines again for telephone conversations?
Are you managing your time better knowing that your device won’t be on 24/7?
Or, are you starting to get annoyed with friends who are constantly on their phones while you’re out for the evening?
I’d love to hear from you!!!

Save the date: July 1- 21, 2016 we’re shutting down and tuning in. YOU’VE GOT THIS!! WE’VE GOT THIS!!!  Let’s start reconnecting by disconnecting. What will YOU do with these 21 nights of freedom? ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. YAY!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Yesterday, Day 1 went great! My mobile’s battery died around 3:40 pm in the afternoon and I didn’t bother to charge/turn it on until today! ๐Ÿ™‚ How was Day 1 for you? Let’s share our challenges and wins.

  3. Day 2 went well ๐Ÿ™‚ Remembered to turn off my cell phone by 9:05 pm in the evening. Felt a bit weird, especially on a Saturday night. Let’s see what Sunday brings ๐Ÿ™‚

    Keep staying unplugged! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. First week is going very well so far ๐Ÿ™‚ Day 3 I turned off my cell phone by 8:56 pm. Had to turn it on briefly a few times while I was out afterwards. And today, Day 4 the phone is off by 8:59 pm! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m starting to enjoy having it off a few hours before I go to bed.

  5. Day 5 I didn’t even blink! ๐Ÿ™‚ My mobile was off by 8:51 pm. I’m really loving this freedom! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Day 6 I was out for a bit after 9:00 pm, so my cell phone didn’t get turned off until 9:50 pm. But, I had it on airport mode much of the time I was out- no distracting notification bings, dings and jingles! ๐Ÿ˜€

  7. Day 7, I completely forgot about my phone and finally remembered to turned it off by 9:17 p.m. It’s nice to actually forget about it. It means that it has less of a presence in my life these days ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. It was a very pleasant and social weekend, so Days 8-10 (Friday-Sunday), my mobile wasn’t turned off until late. Still, it proved not to be a distraction even though I didn’t turn the notifications off. I was too busy engaging connecting and being present with those around me ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Day 11, just really didn’t feel like having the phone on once dinner was prepped. So, turned it off by 5:58 pm! That felt really good!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Day 12, and I shut that mobile down by 8:05 pm! WHOO HOO!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

  11. Day 13, just unplugged from the old cellular at 8:46 pm. I’m continuing to really enjoy this!:D

  12. Hit the 2 week mark yesterday with Day 14, and happily turned my mobile off by 8:32 pm ๐Ÿ™‚ Turned it on again for 45 minutes around 12:35 am to access the flashlight feature while walking one of my canine friends ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. Day 15, a Friday and a social night. My phone didn’t get turned off until 11:31 pm. The biggest challenge in this Challenge? Turning my phone off by 9:00 pm on weekends and socializing nights. However, I have been extremely good at not being distracted by it (checking notifications, emails & texts, using it as an excuse to disengage, etc.) even when I do keep it on later. So, that is definitely a win! ๐Ÿ˜€ Once again turned it on again later to use the flashlight while walking my canine buddy ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. Days 16 & 17 were similar to Day 15 with my cell phone being turned off after 11:00 pm and turned on briefly to walk my canine pal. I so do love have my animal spirits around! ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. Day 18, missed having my canine house guest. But, turned the cell phone off by 8:45 pm. Only three nights left of my challenge. It hasn’t seemed long at all! ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. Wrapping up another day in the Challenge. Admittedly, today was easy. I remembered to turn off my phone by 8:14 pm ๐Ÿ˜€

  17. Days 20 & 21 went well. All in all, a good challenge! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m glad ( lived this experience. I really liked turning off my phone by a certain time on a regular basis. I found it more relaxing and sought out other leisurely, productive and meaningfully connecting ways to spend my time. Keep sharing and growing! ๐Ÿ™‚
